We would like to devote a section of our website to promote natural ways of raising your puppy. We believe that our bodies as well as our dog's bodies are constantly bombarded by different chemicals. In an effort to reduced the amount of chemicals our dogs are exposed to, 6 years ago we started using more and more natural remedies. We use a lot of these suggestions and love them so we hope you enjoy them too.

Ear cleaning:

Nstural Cleaner:

For routine ear cleaning you can use a mixture of equal parts of water and vinegar. Drop the mixture in the ear canal, rub the base of the ear well to loosen up the debris, and then wipe out the excess by placing a cotton ball as deep as you can into the ear canal. Repeat the cleaning until the debris appears removed from the ear. Follow with "no more icky ears" remedy

No more icky ears

5 drops Maleluca
5 drops Lavender
5 drops Geranium
1 tbsp coconut oil
Directions
1. Combine all ingredients
2. Clean the ear with a natural cleaner and then use a Q-tip to carefully rub mixture in the ear.
3. Do this two times daily until the infection clears up.

Purple Power Ear Solution

Great recipe to clean ears. The solution works well on any ear problem from mites to wax to canker. One vet reported a success rate of 95%-99% and felt those not successful had not been routine about it or had not done the treatment long enough. This solution is also effective for the treatment of fungus type infections on the feet & elsewhere on the dog, for cuts on dogs or people, and for hot spots. For EXTERNAL use only. Avoid getting in eyes. Click here For the Blue Power Treatment ingredients and treatment

Homemade Treats:

We are very particular about what we feed our dogs. We give our dogs a variety of fruits an vegetables instead of commercial treats, which are full of sugar and fillers. Our dogs like bananas, oranges, blueberries, apples, carrots and others. Do be careful not to give your dogs plums or grapes because they are toxic to dogs. For a list of foods and plants that are toxic to dogs visit entirelypets.com

NuVet Plus Heals & Protects your Pet From:
Allergies Skin and Coat Problems Scratching, Itching, Biting
Hot Spots Arthritis - Joint Problems Premature Aging
Low Energy Tear Staining Digestive Problems

NuVet scientists, veterinarians and formulators agree that most pet diets are lacking the proper amounts of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. There are important nutrients that animals once received when they were living in a more primitive environment that are not available in the modern diet. Commercial pet foods contain numerous by-products that can make them poisonous, toxic and incapable of reducing the devastating effects of unstable oxygen molecules, also known as "free radicals." Free radicals have been implicated in more than fifty health problems in humans and animals including various forms of cancer, heart disease, arthritis, cataracts and premature aging.

NuJoint Plus is a natural anti-inflammatory hip and joint therapy, formulated with the finest pharmaceutical, human grade ingredients.Major considerations in formulating NuJoint Plus were the pharmaceutical grade quality of ingredients and their healing values, as well as the bio digestibility and utilization into the cellular framework. NuJoint Plus has been formulated by leading Veterinarians and Scientist to contain precise percentages of Glucosamine, Chondroitin, Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) and Vitamin C which will help to quickly and effectively reverse and heal the devastating effects of osteoarthritis.
NuVet Labs has designed a cutting edge formula that we believe will help increase your pets longevity and quality of life. Our scientists performed extensive research and experiments with the ingredients in NuJoint Plus TM, finding the most powerful synergistic defense against the harm caused by osteoarthritis.

Home cleaning solutions:

Household cleaners can be very toxic to dogs. Many times dogs ingest household cleaners and end up at the vet's with anywhere from mild to severe problems and in some instances they can cause death as well.
Non-toxic cleaning can give you a deep feeling of gratification in knowing that your dog's health is protected, and that your home is a place for your bodies to rest and recuperate rather than promote harm. Essential oils are a natural, non-toxic way to clean your home.

All Purpose Cleaners: (lemon, orange, OnGuard Essential oilsare great options)

    • 1 tsp. Borax
    • 2 Tbs. White Vinegar
    • ½ tsp. Castile Soap
    • 2 C very Hot Distilled Water
    • 5 to 6 drops Essential oils

Basic Floor Cleaner

    • 1/8 C Castile Soap
    • 1/8 C Distilled White Vinegar
    • 1 gallon Water
    • 10 drops Essential oils
    • Combine all ingredients in pail. Use to mop any floor.

WOODEN Floor cleaner

    • 1 part White Vinegar
    • 1 part Water
    • Add 5 drops Lemon oil, 2 drops Melaleuca, and 5 drops Lavender Essential oils.

Disinfectants:

    • Regular cleaning with plain soap and hot water will kill some bacteria.
    • Borax has long been recognized for its disinfectant and deodorizing properties. Mix 1/2 cup Borax into 1 gallon hot water or undiluted vinegar and clean with this solution.
    • 2 tablespoons borax, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 2 cups hot water. Combine the borax and lemon juice with the water in a spray bottle. Use as you would any commercial all-purpose cleaner.

Carpets/Upholstery:

    • A great non-toxic carpet stain remover is club soda. Soak spot immediately with soda and blot until the stain is gone.
    • Pet Urine on Carpets: Dab area with towel to absorb as much as possible, wash spot with liquid dish detergent, and rinse with 1/2 cup vinegar diluted in 1 qt warm water. Lay towels or paper towels over the spot and weight down to absorb excess moisture. Let stand 4 to 6 hours, then remove toweling, brush up nap and allow to dry completely. Use an electric fan to speed drying.
    • Sprinkle cornstarch onto carpet, vacuum.
    • To remove grease spots from carpets, first sop up the liquid with a sponge, then rub a liberal amount of baking soda into the spot. Let it absorb overnight. Next day, remove the excess and vacuum the area.

Carpet Freshener:

4 cups baking soda or cornstarch
35 drops Eucalyptus essential oil
30 drops Lavender essential oil
25 drops Rosewood essential oil
or any combination of your favorite Essential oils
Measure 4 cups of baking soda into a bowl, add essential oils. Break up any clumps that form, stir until well mixed. Before vacuuming sprinkle powder from a shaker type can or jar. Let it sit on the carpet for about 15 minutes then vacuum.

Flea and Tick repellents:

Flea and tick treatments can be very toxic to dogs. Many times dogs ingest them and end up at the vet's with anywhere from mild to severe problems and in some instances they can cause death as well.
Non-toxic alternatives can give you a deep feeling of gratification in knowing that your dog's health is protected.
There are many essential oils that repel insects, including lavender, citronella, eucalyptus, lemongrass, peppermint, rosemary, geranium, clove, clary sage, and cedar wood.

Flea & Critter Spray

Add 10-15 drops of any of the above oils to 1-2 ounces of a gentle organic castile soap (Dr. Bronner’s is a good one).
Pour the mixture into a 16 ounce spray bottle and spray your pet each day before heading outside.

Flea & Tick Collar

Use a cloth collar or bandana.
Add 5 drops each of cedarwood, geranium, and lavender (or any combination of the above mentioned bug-repelling EO’s) evenly dispersed over the collar/bandana.
Repeat every few days to a week, as oils evaporate.

Spot-On Treatment

Dilute essential oils with olive oil or fractionated coconut oil.
Apply between dog’s shoulders and on hind at base of tail.
Repeat daily or every few days.
